BofA to cut 12,500 jobs-SunMicro to cut 3500 jobs-Gateway to cut 2500 jobs

All these cuts announced just in the past week, many more to follow.

burger flippers and cashiers at wally mart... :eyes:

3. When NationsBank merged
with Bank of America in 1999 there were a large number of people layed off. I was one of them but found a position in another department. They "transferred" jobs to another center and made the announcement in a large auditorium in downtown Dallas. Unfortunately when mergers take place (as in BofA's case) there are many duplicate jobs and usually there are layoffs.

I've found it doesn't matter which pary is in power when mergers happen since the corporations are only looking out for their bottom line.

Thankfully I'm medically retired from Bank of America so won't have to worry about layoffs again.
