I have a cat that used to whine if she found herself alone as a kitten. She'd call out for solace. |
|
You'd yell for her to come into the room you and the other cat were in and she'd come running. No more meowing. Now it is just her and I. I give her lots of attention when I get home at night. I try and sit her on my lap as I sit at the computer. But she whines. A lot. From the same room. But she only does this at night. On my day off she during the day she is quiet and as happy as can be. What is up with that?

Poor little thing misses her fur pal. You don't know what she does when you're out. :( My cat comes when I whistle or call his name and he calls me. He can't stand to have me behind a shut door. He doesn't really want in most of the time - just wants access. When he calls me from across the house, it sounds like, 'meowmomnow, meowmomnow' - he will hush for a couple of minutes when my fiance tells him to. When I leave, he lays at the top of the stairs and cries. We're getting him a playmate soon, which I hope helps. I also leave the tv on for him if I'm going to be gone more than an hour, because he seems less stressed.

2. Yes. I do think she sleeps most of the time I am out. She seems happy to see me when I get home. I |

can't own another cat because I will inherit my parents cat (which was mine to begin with) when they go into nursing care..sometime in the next few years. Someone suggested that I foster another kitty but it would break my heart to have to give up another cat. I simply can't do it right now.

3. I could never foster because I could never give them up. |

I'm sitting here with a smile one my face, as my cat is staring me in the face and doing his,'meownowmom'. He's had supper, litter box is clean, deck time together and played fetch with his favorite feather toy. Forget the poor pitiful fur pal - cats are just a pain in the backside and your cat is fine! lol

5. My cat does this and he is nine years old |
|
He's been doing it more in the last week and a half probably because we went on the longest vacation we've had since we got him and he missed up while we were gone. But he does it anyway in normal times.
He knows our routine - when my husband went off for a weekend, the cat goes upstairs in the evenings and call for him in hubby's computer room. If I'm not feeling good and take a nap at an odd time, he will stand outside the bedroom and yell for me - I've learned to leave the door ajar so he can come inside with me. But he stills yells as he comes in and jumps on the bed with me.
He loves going for rides with me on the golf cart around the farm. If I am in a hurry and drive off without him, he will stand in the driveway and yowl until I come back for him. If I go to the barn with him, he jumps off to explore, but if I drive home, he yowls until I return to pick him up for the ride home.

7. He must - he comes when called (most of the time) |
|
and will pick up his toys and carry them around. Mostly he is imprinted on me and tends to follow me around.

8. I think she wants you off the computer... |
|
and is a little jealous. Does she have a fixed bedtime...and is it anywhere near when she starts whining?
