Punk takes on Gulf War vet and gets embarrassed (Video)

Gulf War veteran Jason Smith, 35, had no idea why some punk came on his property and started foul mouthing him. Jason, it turns out, is a master in karate and jiu-jitsu and was being filmed defending his home. His wife Rebecca cowered with their 22-month daughter and was later quoted as saying, “I was proud.”

2. That's the training
A lot of people think the purpose of martial arts is to learn how to kick someone's ass.

Rather, it empowers you to handle yourself so the ass-kicking is only a last resort.

It took one swing to send that guy flat on his ass and scrambling.

After all the yelling and build-up and trash can moving-around, when the guy made his move, all it took was one little swing to send him scurrying off like the loud-mouthed coward he was.

:-)

4. His body language and the way he smacked the idiot's hands back were major clues.
Drunken idiot never focused, and faced someone who tracked him like a hawk.

5. 35 now, must have been 15 when he was in the Gulf War, 1990/91

Something is wrong, but of course it doesn't change how well this guy handled himself. At least the instigator realized he made a mistake and walked away.

Edit to add: I just realized that this was in the UK, and 15 yr olds can join up if they have parental consent.

6. You're missing a small fact...
We've had another Gulf War since 1991...

I know, sounds absurd, right?

7. I had never heard of a "yobbery."
Brit slang behaviour typical of aggressive surly youths. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/yobbery
