Ever hear of a singing group "The Four Lads?"
No, they have zilch to do with the Beatles.

Early to mid '60s middle-age Las Vegas lounge singers.

Yes, they are awful.

I'm putting a record of theirs onto CD.

1. I vaguely remember the name.
I think they did some soft-pop stuff in the late '50s.

2. They sold over 50 million records. Some of their stuff was pretty damn good..
...in the 50's.

5. One of my favorite albums from my youth, late 1950's
was "The Four Lads Sing Frank Loesser."

It belonged to my older sister, but somehow I now own it. I think I will put it on a CD....

9. Don't forget the Chordettes. "Mr. Sandman" an absolute favorite. Very
tight harmony..

15. I used to play my mother's 45 of the Chordettes singing Mr. Sandman over and over
when I was a kid. I liked the bum-bum-bum-bum part. Kinda reminds me of the South Park episode about Mormons.

13. My parents had the Four Lads Sing Frank Loesser album
My parents had the album http://www.discogs.com/Four-Lads-TheRay-Ellis-And-His-Or-The-Four-Lads-Sing-Frank-Loesser/release/1653039">The Four Lads Sing Frank Loesser. From the link we can see the songs in the album. I remember my mother played it a lot, particularly in the years 1959 and 1960, when I was in 3rd and 4th grades.

It reminds me both of some happy and some very unhappy memories from my childhood and grade school.

I remember later seeing the movie Guys and Dolls on TV when I was older.

I also remember their song "Standing On the Corner" from when I was 5 or 6 years old.

I like the harmonies of the Four Lads and other similar groups from the 1950's.

7. Ah, I don't think they're all that bad...
Granted, I was born about thirty years after their heyday, and only know three songs by them, but "Standing on the Corner" is catchy and kind of charmingly risque in a mid-fifties sort of way, and "No, Not Much" is pretty. "Moments to Remember" I can take or leave, but I don't have much use for most high school graduation-type songs.

8. You are obviously of a younger generation. During their time,
The Four Lads were very well received. A great group.

'Google' some of their old work, go to You-Tube and listen a while. Brings you back to a better time. You may not remember their work but some of us old timers do and will sing along with great memories.

11. I recorded "Everything Goes."
It's dated 1960, past their heyday, I guess.

12. I remember them from when I was a kid.
They were very popular then, in the late 50's.

My little brother used to sing "Standing on the Corner," and ham it up. I was his big sister, and liked to pick on him, but even then I knew it was cute.
