"I know a word with all the vowels ..." |
|
"I know a word with all the vowels in their proper order," said Tom facetiously.

5. I know an Estonian word with 4 of the same vowel |
|
jääääres
means "at the edge (äär) of the ice (jää)."
Estonians have a lot of vowels. They stole them from Central Europe.

In diphthongs, like cow and bow, the W takes on the sound of the preceding vowel. Learned that in elementary school.

9. Yes, some "consonants" are really vowels in disguise. |
|
But if we include them in the list of vowels, then there is no word with all the vowels. :-(

15. Don't feel bad, I forgot the accent - murciélago |
|
And, apparently, the Italians liked the word so much, they named one of their Lamborghini cars murciélago http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Murci%C3%A9lago
