Today's College Football Thread (Red River Rivalry Edition)
So there are three games between ranked teams today, but the one that matters most (to me) is Oklahoma (3) against Texas (11) in the Cotton Bowl. There’s no better rivalry game in college football. North of the 50-yard line is burnt orange and south of the 50 is Sooner Crimson, and since the Cotton Bowl is in the middle of the Texas State Fair, there are thousands more fans for each team wandering the grounds outside, and plenty of opportunity to party after your team wins. The only problem is that the game often kicks off at 11 am local time, so many of the fans are still hungover from partying in the West End the night before.

The other games between ranked teams:
Florida (17) at LSU (1)
Auburn (15) at Arkansas (10)

There are some other good games today too, like Nebraska’s first Big Ten home game (against Ohio State), Arizona State at Utah, Missouri at Kansas State, and Miami at Virginia Tech.

So who does your team play? What games are you looking forward to?

The Red River Rivalry:

35. Not exactly a banner year for Oregon State, either
they lost to their FCS, Sacramento State. :wtf:

Now watch them ruin everything for Oregon by winning the Civil War, even if they're 2-8 coming in. :eyes:

6. 6-0
Texas has done well in red zone defense so far, but the Sooners scored on their opening possession and added another field goal after a Texas turnover.

DH graduated from Oklahoma State. He converted me. I have an orange T shirt!!

I found out what a "mixed marriage" is in Oklahoma. That's when a Sooner (OU) marries a Cowboy (Aggie).

Miami scored a TD with about 9 minutes left and another with 3 minutes left to take a four-point lead, but Virginia Tech just scored another TD to take back the lead.

30. As usual, a great day to be a Wildcat
Linfield, which hasn't had a losing season in football since the Eisenhower administration (the first one), rolls up a post-war high score against an outmatch University of Puget Sound team, 73-7. Next up, at Pacific, another winless team. Time to start thinking about first round playoff match-ups.

Ran right over Cal. Duck beat Bears!

Of course, though, the Ducks' Heisman trophy winner crunched his elbow and may be out for a while. That was very sad.
