I've finally gotten something done with my condo. |

I had my condo on the market since last Christmas. Around last June my realtor suggested that I try to rent the place. I decided that was a good idea and the place went up for rent as well as for sale. I finally got something done with it.
Last month a young woman looked at the condo and liked it. She was looking for a place to rent but was having a hard time finding something to her liking where they would let her keep her cat. Cats are okay with me so she put in an application to the property management company that is handling the place for me. Everything looked excellent so we had a deal. She moved in late last month.
I was trying to rent the condo furnished, but she didn't want that so I had to clear everything out. It also meant that I had to rent the place for a little less so the rent on it doesn't completely cover the payment with condo fees, but I'm only $35 short every month and I can cover that. I'm not getting rich on the deal, but it will keep me out of the poor house.
I feel very relieved.

Congratulations on a well-done deal! I know this has been hanging over you, and I'm relieved that you found a way out.
I hope she'll stay a long time, and be a great tenant too...
My best to you and Jen!

Thank you. Who knows? Maybe one day she'll decide she'd like to buy the place from me.

3. Tobe, you're too generous. |

When I moved into my current furnished apartment (with my Eastern European landlord's combination of Soviet utilitarian and antique hardwood furniture: very heavy and very Slavic), he informed me that if I wanted to buy my own furniture, that the Condo Assoc. would rent me storage space to store his furniture for just $25.00/mo.
I put off buying furniture.
