4. Instantly remembered that quote. One of the funniest movies ever. |
|
I laughing right now just remembering that dog and the station wagon with the little footballers in the back.
Airplane and The Blues Brothers came out that same year (1980). You don't know how good we had it back then, kids. Back when comedies were actually funny. Before the dark times. Before the Empire.

2. I knew exactly what that quote was from. |
|
My daughter loves Kurt Russell, but I can't get her to watch that movie. Even telling her about the dog didn't work.

5. I loved that movie so much |
|
...I went back to the theater to see it two more times. Funny fucking film. If they ever try to "remake" it, I shall hunt down the bastard responsible and bury him in a red car.

7. I have the DVD, and in the commentary |
|
they talk about the stunt Gerritt Graham does where he's walking backward away from the red car and the other car is coming up behind him, swerving at the last second. The director and the others admitted they could never do such a stunt today, or not without CGI, and I'd have to agree. You won't see stunts like that ever again :o
I do highly recommend watching it with the commentary on (once you've watched it normally a few times first.) I don't think Russell is drunk, but he's just as hilarious watching the movie and laughing with it as he was acting it :D
Trust me!
