1. If Abbott was a cat he'd be a Boston Terrior
He looks like one and probably weighs about the same.

2. My cat is apparently a Turkish Van
Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 01:16 PM by hifiguy
as he has the characteristic personality traits and Van markings, but he has toe tufts like a Maine Coon Cat. He was a rescue kitty who was dropped off at a local cat shelter, so they didn't know his background. He's huge (18-20 lbs) very talkative and follows me around.

This cat could be my Butch's double except Butch's markings are a little darker:

5. He gets a sort of ruff around his (bull-thick) neck
Edited on Wed Oct-12-11 01:35 PM by hifiguy
in the wintertime. Not huge but noticeable. He has some auburn patches on the back of his rear legs between knee and ankle, which apparently is a disqualifier for a show cat, but the more I learn the more I am convinced he's a purebred Van. He is one big, barrel-chested handsome boy. So husky that I named him Butch because he seemed like the cat version of an old-time cartoon bulldog. I do loves my kitty!!

7. I love cats that chirp
two of mine did that. With one it was almost like a cooing sound. :) One still does it but not very often.

9. Other
I like cats ok but wouldn't want to own one. I'm fond of most animals, but most I wouldn't want for a pet. I'm just not much of a cat person. I'm also allergic to them, so though I can be around one I shouldn't be sitting on furniture they've been on or pet them. Actually, I don't have much of a problem with petting a cat a little bit so long as it doesn't rub against me and I wash my hands well right afterward. I wasn't allergic when I was a kid, but then again I wasn't allergic to anything then. When I got to about my mid-twenties I suddenly acquired all kinds of various allergies. Allergies suck.

10. I have to say that a ginger tabby stole my heart
He is the softest cat I ever had, and incredibly companionable. He passed in March. I'd look for another ginger tabby if I didn't still have two other cats.

And one of those is 28 pounds -- huge brown tabby.

I love cats. They're quirky.

13. I love Siamese crosses - tabby points, red points and such
I've had several tabby point cats and they tend to be great company with amazing personalities. Sometimes they can be very annoying, like my current insane cat, but they are always funny.

19. Mine! And then, all of them after that....
Big cats, domestic cats, long hair, short hair, tail, no tail... doesn't matter. Love 'em all.

And, well, that goes for dogs, birds, horses, elephants, groundhogs.... but I share my home with cats.

16. Other: I don't hate cats, but prefer dogs.
We always had cats when I was growing up, and we had a rescue cat for 20 years. He was a good cat, but I just don't want any more cats.

18. All cats are my favorite.
Any feline so disposed to choose my house as their home is welcome to stay.

I have never met a kitty that I didn't like, or one that didn't like me.

Spoiled rotten cats, that is! Especially when they're no more than giant kittens.

22. Mine is supposedly Manx/Pixie Bob
What she really is is a big tailless grey fluffy girl with a doglike personality and a penchant for fruit of nearly all types, and Special K with milk but not soy milk. I had to switch in self defense. Bunny's just the best.
