The cops, the cop hat and the damn possum

It's really funny, so I thought I'd share just this story outside that thread.

I was never able to tell the story before because any time I tried I laughed so hard I could hardly get the words out, and people kind of raised an eyebrow at me and in some cases made suggestions such as I might want to consider not invading Granny's secret supply of cooking sherry anymore. Never occurred to me before to write it out and share it that way since it's probably the only way to tell it and be able to get it all out without howling hysterically. And it's one of those hilarious stories that one just HAS to share.

I hadn't thought about it for awhile but in the thread with the photos of Yoshi I was reminded of it again since I ran into one of the cops that was involved in the funny story, and one of the reasons I realized it was him was because of a discussion with several officers about Yoshi and a police hat. The explanation for that is in the post so it's understood what I was talking about in the post of the funny story...

This story occurred a few years ago when I had my dog, Boo, so you know who Boo is in the story though he doesn't have much to do with it.
