Do you sit on top of the closed toilet?
I see this on TV all the time. Last night a girl was sitting cross-legged on the toilet talking to her dad. Later in the show she was sitting on top of the toilet in a bathroom stall at school, reading a book.

TV often shows women sitting on the toilet and painting their toenails. Characters say "Take a seat" to one another, and one sits on the toilet.

I don't believe this ever happens in real life. I would never do it. There's always somewhere better to sit!

1. If you have a very small bathroom, there isn't anyplace else to sit
and do something like paint your toenails. But if I want to have a conversation with someone I'll sit somewhere else (not in the bathroom).

3. no - kind of grosses me out
If I ever feel the need to sit on anything in the bathroom I'd sit on the edge of the tub. But I'd only do it in some kind of odd situation like needing to put a bandaid on a toe or something like that. If I'm going to chat with someone or paint my toenails I wouldn't be in the bathroom at all. I figure the bathroom is for doing those things that can't be done anywhere else.

9. Yes, after I get out the shower
When I get out of the shower I throw my towel on the toilet (so I don't slide), and use a pumice stone on the callouses of my feet.
