I'm surprised at myself. I intentionally was an a-hole. And I liked it. |
|
We are all humans. We should all be nice to eachother. I realized today that this is not always true.
Was walking into a department store this afternoon. As I always do, I looked over my shoulder to see if there was anyone behind me to hold the door open for. There was a woman about 10 steps behind me so I held the door. Good so far... Right?
She screamed(no joke) at me "I don't need some stupid man to open a door open for me! I can do it myself!"... She then made the motion when you shoo something away with both hands.
I never felt so dismissed. So I did what any gentleman would do in the same situation.
I locked both of the front doors and went shopping.

"Lucky for you I'm an intelligent man, not one of the stupid ones," while I continued to hold the door for Miss Fussypants.

8. How were you able to lock the doors? |
|
At most stores a manager has to do that with a key. If you were able to do it, wasn't the store a little peeved that you had locked their doors on a customer?

10. They were those locks that you don't need a key if you are on the inside. |
|
I just needed to turn the latches.
I do not know if anyone in the store was peeved or not... As soon as I was done locking the doors I shooed away as per her instructions.

I'm surprised because they are illegal in most states because it allows most anyone to lock the doors.

13. okay, the store I work in has those kinds of locks |
|
and I can't for the life of my imagine why they would be illegal anywhere. Yes, anyone can lock the door from the inside but at the same time anyone can UNlock the door from the inside. What would be the problem??

15. a person with less then honorable intentions |

could lock the doors and break off the latch thereby locking everybody inside. As a Fire Marshal I was required to cite any public facility with an occupancy of more than 50 people if they had these locks. Panic hardware or locks that required a key are fine.
