Animals kill other animals for food, not like hunters kill animals for the thrill of the hunt.

I've seen cats playing with their prey. The cats seem to be having fun.
I've seen videos of bears killing many more salmon than they can eat. The bears, likewise, seem to be having fun.
I don't think we humans are uniquely depraved in this regard.

The cheetah in the close-up had just received a couple of hard kicks to the head. Maybe he enjoyed that.
