Damn you to hell, Will Pitt! I've been laughing so hard, I think I broke something inside. It's insane. No, really. Remember the really absurd times at DU these last 10 years or so? People are over there reminiscing. I figure Walt Starr is being talked about somewhere there. And they have sex threads and call people out and basically act like DUers with no restraints. DU on crack, sort of.

How can something so wrong make me laugh so hard? I'm a bad, bad person.

We're not publicly posting it currently as there is an ongoing discussion as to whether we need to change the name in order to address any possible Intellectual Property concerns over the DU name, logo, abbreviation that might arise. We're doubtful there are as the group has existed for years and the Admins know it exists (it's been mentioned on-board before as a way to keep DUing during site-outages or slowdowns.) and have never shown any inclination of caring.

After that is hashed, probably publicly post it.

Until then, now that I know how to send the group ID, Someone will PM it to anybody who wants it I guess.

I'm not a member, but I bookmarked it after a discussion a while back.

FWIW, anyone can find it by typing "DemocraticUnderground facebook group" into Google. It's the very first result. If you want to secure it for now, you should probably change it to something other than an Open Group (which would be a bummer for those of us who have simply enjoyed lurking it until now).

34. It's not a privacy issue AFAIK

We (well, I did) knew that to be the case...it wasn't my decision, it was more-or-less made by consensus.

I think they're concerned that cross-posting implies asserting an endorsement by the admins or something. There is a disclaimer stating that none exists but is that strong enough is the question...along with what to name-change the group to.

I don't know why nobody just PMs Skinner, EarlG and Elad to ask them for input but it's not my place. Like I said, I doubt they care.
