Seriously - why does anyone take seriously a band that is clearly writing music for 11 year old girls?

Not only does their music fucking suck, but they're stage antics are totally engineered and fake, and their stage design is pure demographically-designed ludicrous shit.

Vapid, empty, fake, shitty... usually these kinds of bands last but an album or two, but somehow this collision of talentless douchebaggery and illiterate musical banality has earned grammies and, apparently, copious amounts of pre-teen excitement.

Fuck.

I find a lot of their songs to be really pretty.

10. I'm not a Coldplay fan, but damn.
Apparently they strike a chord and when you insult them like that you insult those who like them. I appreciate "I hate them and can't figure out why others love them" but...damn.

11. Here's the one they wrote about Bush....
Exactly what 11 year old girls are into!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lSODkdm2F6g

I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word
Now in the morning, I sleep alone
Sweep the streets I used to own

I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes
Listen as the crowd would sing:
"Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!"

One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand

I hear Jerusalem bells a ringing
Roman Cavalry choirs are singing
Be my mirror, my sword and shield
My missionaries in a foreign field
For some reason I can't explain
Once you go there was never, never an honest word
That was when I ruled the world

It was a wicked and wild wind
Blew down the doors to let me in
Shattered windows and the sound of drums
People couldn't believe what I'd become

Revolutionaries wait
For my head on a silver plate
Just a puppet on a lonely string
Oh who would ever want to be king?

12. I liked them for a while...
but now it all sounds the same to me. When they say "here is the new song by coldplay" I'm like, that's new? I'm sure I heard it before..

13. I'd take Coldplay over Nickelback.
Nickelback needs to be disbanded by order of the Canadian Prime Minister. I don't even think they have any fans anymore.

15. What I don't get is why Brian Eno...
...would produce them.

Actually, I do get it, it's the $$$.

(And, as a Grammy voter, I will state that I've never voted for Coldplay for anything.)

18. To me, Coldplay's music is like wallpaper--
when it;s on the radio, it's there but I don't notice it. (It's too bland to notice.)
