Cheese straws are so damn expensive |
|
As far as I can tell they are cheese, some doughy substance and some fairly mild hot spices. Why? Why are they so damn expensive?

1. I've heard of them, but have never eaten nor even seen them. |

. . . Is there anything difficult in the baking or packaging processes? . . . Lots of stuff like that -- including biscotti... simple ingredients, but expensive cost. . . . There is a cooking forum on DU where you might be more likely to find an informed answer -- though we have our share of enlightened foodies here. . . . Welcome to DU!!! . . . :hi: . . .

4. They are very, very easy to make. Just don't forget the cayenne. |
|
We used to make them every Christmas before we decided to try to be healthy but all they are is cheddar cheese, butter and flour with a good dash of cayenne. They're sort of like those Bisquick sausage balls, not a good thing for you in them but man, they are delicious.
You can find an online recipe easily I'm sure.
