UPDATE: MiddleFingerMom is ROYALLY PISSED that his research grant request was REJECTED.

I remember the post a few weeks ago, when he told us that he'd sent a copy of his research grant request by Certified Mail to Rahm Emanuel, who replied "Why are you sending this to ME, you dork? I'm the Mayor of Chicago!"



Refusing to be discouraged, MiddleFingerMom replied to Emanuel, stating most emphatically that since President Obama has "much to hide" in the area of his research, he felt the only person he could trust was Rahm Emanuel.

Mayor Emanuel DID reply, and MiddleFingerMom posted it here: "Why are you sending this to ME, you dork? I'm the Mayor of Chicago!"

At this point, MiddleFingerMom thought that he might be dealing with one of Emanuel's subordinates, responding by form letter, and not the mayor himself.

He then sent a copy of the request...also via Certified Mail...to Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman, asking for his support and suggesting that it might be a way to "vindicate" himself with Liberals. Lieberman replied "Why are you sending this to ME, you dork? I'm a Connecticut state Senator!"



By now, MiddleFingerMom had become firmly convinced that President Obama was, in fact, the man behind the efforts to silence him.

Enclosing a copy of his grant request with a delightful gift basket of mini muffins, MFM Fed Exed the President at the White House.

Two weeks later, he received a personal reply from the President: "Thanks for the muffins, but why are you sending this to ME, you dork? I'm President of the United States!"



Knowing full well that a dream deferred is like a raisin in the sun, MiddleFingerMom then went to his local theater to enjoy a matinee performance of the latest Adam Sandler rib-tickling funny movie, while enjoying a box of Raisinettes.

But what about his research grant request?

The grant request for his $200 million study, "Why I Love Bacon," still sits on the desk of the one man who can turn the tide in his favor...President Barack Obama.

When I last spoke with MiddleFingerMom, he was perusing the Omaha Steaks Website, muttering "Maybe the mini muffins weren't PRESIDENTIAL enough..."

So what can we do at DU? How can we support MiddleFingerMom? I think the answer is simple...by eating bacon whenever possible, and...MOST importantly...making as many bacon-related posts as possible in The Lounge.

That's not the same as "making bacon." That won't help MFM at all, but if you're going to do it, I guess I can't stop you.
