Project Runway--Anybody watching? |
|
Kudos to the judges for allowing all four contestants to show. Anya, what a shocker. She did what the judges had been asking for years: COLOR!

1. hmm. What did you think about the winner? (SPOILERS) |
|
Viktor really blew it, I thought. He was by far the best there, and he - as Nina said - sent 4 missed opportunities down the runway. Well, three - one of them should have been in there, but 4?
Anya had been chosen from day 1. I don't think she was the best, by far, but this was also a not-very-strong group of contestants.
Ugh. So predictable.

2. Viktor really did blow it. It was always his to lose. |

Here are my observations:
(1) A clear vision is critical.
(2) The judges not only have hearts, but have a healthy eye for someone who is naturally gifted. Anya may not have been the strongest contestant, but she had an incredible eye for prints, and for the judges it has always been about color. I will love to see what she comes up with in the coming year, since it's obvious the judges were interested in urbanizing her clothes.
(3) Kimberly: If she had worked her show around that black sparkling gown and that white blouse and white pants, would have taken this show away. I was ga-ga over that white outfit.
(4) Josh grew up. I hope that what calmed him down was that someone offered him a job after the show. I think, he also needed time to find his vision. There's a market for him out there, but probably in providing clothes for some futuristic movie.

3. Although Anya made very pretty clothes... |
|
I was routing for Viktor. His printed dresses were stunning. Some of his black dresses were a little too much, but they were cool and beautifully made.
I think even Josh was better than Anya (his bitchiness seemed to tone down toward the end. Anya was a one trick pony, could she tailor anything (yeah, I know it's not project seamstress....)
waiting for Project Runway All Stars. That should be VERY fun.
