Actors that we sometimes confuse.
These are actors that at a glance we might confuse, one for the other. Of course, with a little effort we recognize the error because each are powerful talents:

Here's my list:

Jeff Daniels and Bill Pullman

Matt Damon and Mark Wahlberg

Anybody else have mix-ups?

2. Nooooo!!!!
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 02:25 PM by The Backlash Cometh
These have unique personalities and are intelligent as well as wonderful actresses: Helen Page, Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan

These are talented actresses: Dakota Fanning, Carey Mulligan, Rachel McAdams

This one has a name, but I admit I couldn't pick her face out of the bunch without the name attached to it: Blake Lively.

And these are promising up & comings: Deborah Ann Woll, Anna Kendrick, Emma Watson, Mara Rooney, Jennifer Lawrence, Maisie Williams.

If you haven't seen a movie with the top three gals, you are really missing out.

21. Absolutely agree with the first one.
John Hurt and Ian McKellan I would never confuse because I was a huge fan of Lord of the Rings and was okay with McKellan's in The Da Vinci code. And also, because John Hurt plays entirely a different kind of role and of course, their voices are entirely different. I mean, who couldn't tell Gandalf apart from Olivander?

The other three, for less reasons than I can explain, I would never have trouble telling apart. However, I could get D.B.Sweeney confused with Steve Guttenberg. Okay, maybe not.

Ron Rifkin and Joey Grey, yes, I can see that one.

Paul Sorvino and vincent Gardenia. No way!

I'd have to look at the credits to see which one I was watching. Funny is that I can go back and watch the exact same films now and there is no confusion at-all.

41. Similar movies might be a more accurate statement. I'll give you an example.
The movie "Sphere"
and the movie "Event Horizon".
Both excellent movies btw.

In one of those, Lawrence Fishburne plays a leading roll and in the other Samuel L. Jackson.

The Matrix is another one further confuzzling me.
I seem to recall both having a similar thing happen to them in the movie but I can't completely recollect what happened at this time.

And I could swear that Fishburne was in Lakeview Terrace but it wasn't. It was Jackson. Not sure how or why I mixed that up.

I guess as a rule of thumb, Jackson is going to be the safer the answer because he was in a lot more films.

More than once I've thought I was seeing something old with Odenkirk in it, only to find that it's not so old and that's Arnett.

Just noticed the Comedy Central flick Let's Go to Prison, that has both of them in it. Not playing father and son, either, which is kind of a waste.
