First of all, it pisses me the hell off when they waste water, especially HOT water, like he did. Doesn't he know there is a zombie apocalypse going on fercrissakes?

But I have two interpretation of why he cut his hair:

1) "That is the LAST time anybody will grab me by my hair dammit!"

or

2) "Oh shit, I need to get rid of the evidence!"
