Ever want to be a kid again?
Every once in a while I'll get that feeling of innocence and wonder.

I want it again - - like in this video:

1. I can never decide - it's a free will thing.
How much do you get to remember?

How much do you get to change?

If you don't get to remember anything, what's the point? It won't be "you" experiencing it.

If you remember everything but can't make anything different, that's some kind of voyeuristic hell.

If you remember everything and can change how you behave, then it gets really strange. And you get really rich if you invest in the right things.

I'd go back in a heartbeat.

10. Me too. When I was younger I spent too much time handing all my power away to other people.

7. No, I would not want to be a kid today
Edited on Tue Nov-01-11 09:44 AM by Lydia Leftcoast
I grew up in a good time to be a kid: we had good schools with art, music, and recess but not a lot of pressure; a low crime rate, and real neighborhoods where we ran around freely. We got automatic exercise walking back and forth to school (20 blocks a day, in my case, since we walked home and back for lunch). We had a lot of free time for reading and imaginative play.

The only downside is that we still had to go through measles and chicken pox, and in my early years, polio was a threat.

HOWEVER, if I could relive my teen years and twenties knowing what I know now, I would do a lot of things differently. If I had to relive them with the same ignorance I had then, I'd probably end up the same way.

8. No way.
I find that I've managed to maintain what I consider the positive elements of childhood (the capacity to dream big, for instance), while leaving behind the negative elements (the horrible powerlessness). As an adult I have the best of both worlds. As a kid, I was at the world's mercy.

9. Having finally made it (barely alive) past menopause...
I would NEVER wanna go back in time, knowing that was waiting for me in my future. As it is, I'm really healthy, and the lack of estrogen makes me feel like I'm 11 again--only with saggy skin, a leaky brain, and a great enthusiasm for life and adventure that is based on: Not giving a shit who thinks what about me and 2) Knowing I can trust my own judgment and that very few people can make me doubt myself anymore. Life is bloody good at almost 57!

That said, this is what I miss from my childhood: I used to fly in my dreams all the time. It was the most glorious sensation, I would successfully resist waking up to stay in that state of mental happiness. As I grew older, my imagination faded and I no longer can summon the flying dream. A lot of my friends can still do it, but I'm a pragmatist and a skeptic, so it's the price I've paid. Still, though I'd rather have my old perception than deal with learning all those lessons again.

12. Yeah.
There was more fun in my life back then than there is now. I miss fun. Sometimes I wish I could go back to one year of my life that I really liked and live it again.
