It's piling up the one-star reviews on Amazon (one of them mine).

No matter how bad you THINK it MIGHT be, if you haven't actually HEARD it, you don't know. You just don't KNOW.

:puke:

2. Obviously...
Senility smacked Lou HARD. Still, can it be any worse than MMM?

5. I mentioned MMM in my Amazon review...
...and so did many of the other reviewers.

The issue is that Lou seems to be completely unaware of Metallica's presence.

It's like Metallica went in and recorded some kind of karaoke disc (although Hetfield does bray throughout the disc), and Lou just let the tape roll while he spewed random stream-of-consciousness crap, and some unlucky engineer had the unenviable task of stitching it all together.

There is one song..."Iced Honey"...that sounds like they consciously sat down and tried to put together "a song," but for the most part, it's what i described above, and it doesn't work at all.

And yeah...Lou does sound senile, but also phlegmatic. His voice sounds like crap and when he tries the roaring lion thing it just sounds sad.

3. I heard a "leaked" cut a couple weeks ago on The Bone.

6. The leaked track was most likely "The View"...
...and at the time my reaction was "Well, it's different. Not the worst thing I've ever heard. Definitely not the best. Just...different.

One of those "reach exceeding the grasp" things. Hard to tell if it was overly ambitious or completely lacking in ambition (and Lou, in the past, has taken both of those paths in the same song).

4. Shaky old man voice rambling on, cookie monster interjections from Hetfield,
on top of "chunka chunka"

Despite it's Schoolhouse Rock vibe, "The Raven" is better than this one.

7. YES! That's the essence of what I wrote in my Amazon review.
Hetfield is really a joke and a half on this one.

8. Just the thought of that pairing is revolting to me.
I liked Lou Reed in the Velvet Underground...and I hate Metallica. The two together? You're right, I can't imagine how awful it is.

So I'm going over to Amazon to have a listen. Because now I need to know the afwulness of it!

9. I heard two songs. THAT will be all. I take Shatner more seriously.
BOTH of them need to just pack it in. NOW. Especially Metallica. Saw a live performance of them recently . . . Jesus Christ. It was atrocious, particularly Lar$ and Jame$. Winded-ass Lar$ mailed in their faster songs, Jame$ is obviously all about the cash, Kirk and bassist-of-the-moment Trujillo are just happy to be there. Not a team, just lame.

10. I assumed it would be awful.
And chose not to seek it out to listen to it.
