I had a doctor's appt at the hospital today -- a follow-up to my stay a few weeks ago.
.
.
.
I passed everything with flying colors -- all my levels are
within (my) normal ranges. So, although I'm experiencing
some shoulder pain from both individual surgeries involving
their own specific shoulder and I've been a little run-down --
I'm doing pretty amazingly well at the present.
.
I don't think I mentioned that one of the things they did
during my last stay was to surgically implant a defibrillator
atop my left pectoral muscle. I have A-fib/A-flutter (which
is Atrial fibrillation & flutter) -- basically, for short periods
of time, occasionally my heart, instead of beating normally
and pushing my blood along, will just take up a rhythm of
flubbida-flubbida-flubbida for awhile... causing my blood
to pretty much march in place. Not a REAL big deal as it
lasts no more than a few seconds (although they're pretty
sure my collapse a few weeks ago was due to an unusally
long period of A-fib) -- usually just a truly momentary
thing. HOWEVER, it puts me at greater risk for V-fib --
which is Ventricular flutter. If THAT happens, even
momentarily, chances are it would cause what they keep
referring to as "sudden death" -- a condition much more
severe than a tie score at the end of normal play during
a football game. Not a "potentially fatal" situation...
sudden death, which would be unbelieveably embarrassing
to someone like me -- who is Fucking Immortal.
.
They suggested implanting this a coupla years ago --
but at that point, I chose not to do it -- the risks were
extremely low. With all the subsequent problems, I was
like "Is it in yet? Is it in yet? Is it in yet?
.
So, if my heart goes into V-fib for more that one second,
this doohickey will act like those heart-starting paddles and
I'll receive a kick that has been described as "mule-like".
.
Boiled down, I guess what I'm trying to say is it's all rosy
here for the present.
.
The BAD news is that there's no clinical justification for
any tag-team bedbaths in my immediate future.
.
The depression over that realization is quickly becoming a
palpable beast.
.
But I'm not gonna cry.
.
.
.
I'm NOT!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
(sniff)

1. Are you on any restrictions, like no driving, or anything?
I am trying to imagine what would happen if you got a sudden "kick like a mule" moment in the car.

5. I do have some... but my kidneys are especially vulnerable to their potential side effects...
.
.
.
... so I like to keep their use down to a minimum. They get me through
the worst of it -- usually in the morning when my sleeping position
causes some stress on my chest muscles.
.
.
.
I know, I know... "so don't sleep like that".
.
.
.
Hey... before that even crosses your smartass lips -- NO MEDICAL ADVICE!!!!
.
.
.
.
.
.
But if you're willing to bring me a glass of ginger ale, tuck me
in and tell me a really fucking boring story so I can get to sleep...
THAT'S permissible.
.
.
.
And hey... I'm ready and able to pass along the three rules of
ensuring that you get the proper medical treatment that have
helped me so much:
.
1. Ask for the drugs.
.
2. Ask for more drugs.
.
3. WWMFMD -- What Would MiddleFingerMom Do?
.
.
.
You can't go wrong by following that advice.

6. My dear MiddleFingerMom!
Atrial fib/flutter, huh? I have atrial flutter too.....

11% of the time ......before my new drug!

Now, it's essentially gone.

I do love my antiarrhythmic drugs!

I'm really glad you're doing well...

12. I have that, too.
They don't do anything. Apparently I can live with it, though I do take coumadin. It is better to exercise, so I go to the gym.

I hope all of us are getting proper medical advice from our doctors.

MFM, I am relieved to hear your good news!

8. Shouldn't your normal thought process be shocking enough?
Just think of a pic you are just waiting to post and you will laugh yourself back to life!

In all seriousness, be well and don't go off your meds (Some of them are actually good for you - I know, that's a bummer)

9. Glad to hear you're doing well...
I hope you're able to get rid of the pain you're having in your shoulders.

Couldn't they use that as clinical justification for the sponge baths? I mean, at least one nurse for an assist--

14. You have NO idea what you've just done!!!
.
.
.
While looking at your video offering, I noticed one nearby.
.
.
.
Here I am trying for heart health -- and you raise my blood pressure by 20-30 points.

.
In 1960's smalltown Michigan, Lola's dance of seduction ("Whatever Lola Wants") in
the film "Damn Yankees" was the closest thing to porno THIS young adolescent horndog
would see for many years.
.
Gwen Verdon made QUITE the impression on my oh-so-easily-influenced-tumescenced-self.

"And Little MFM... Little Lola... wants you!!!!"
