That is, today in the U.S.?

Just curious as it has a 60's Manson vibe and I wonder if, scattered around the rural area, communes or "families" like this one still exist these days?

They (in the movie) weren't religious - 'just centered around one charismatic dude and all the followers revolved around him. Kind of like Jonestown, too.
