do any of your cats think that the dog is theirs?
Well, I think that our Dora thinks that both dogs are hers.

She purrs and rubs on them. The border collie will sit there and pretent to be annoyed with her rubbing, but
he just sits there. He doesn't do anything. And she often will try to groom his paws.

Rosie the rescued mutt, will try to groom Dora and loves the cat rubbing on her.

Sometimes the cat will flop down right next to the dogs, as if she thinks they will pet her.

Do your cats do this?

2. She's putting her scent on this. It's a mark of feline ownership. It's all good, though.

3. The cat is scent-marking. It's like a prison yard tattoo.

6. two dogs, two cats, we can't figure out what their pecking order is!
Older dog, Buddy, loves older cat, Kip.

Younger dog, Mocha, isn't crazy about younger cat, Sam.

Two dogs love each other, two cats love each other.

My wife and I are way down on the totem pole for all of them - just feeders, walkers and litter box emptiers!

7. my 28 pound tabby walks right up to the border collie and swats his face
Honestly, the border collie has enormous and admirable self-control, because he knows he could rip up the cat, and has gone after tabby a few times always stopping just short of an attack. Tabby is continually taunting him.

12. Nah, carnivores carry parasites and their flesh is too acidic. Besides, you'd get a hairball. LOL.

14. Not only that, but as I posted earlier, when I got back from a trip
too late to pick up the dogs from the kennel that night, she woke me up at 3AM walking around downstairs looking for her buddy and barking to get his attention!

16. My rescue kitty thinks he's a dog!
From the day I brought Linus home, he and Kel have been buds. I think he needed any animal companionship after having been in the shelter for several months. He gets along (grooms, naps, plays, rubs) with all the family dogs - mine and those of my siblings - and the dogs seem fine tolerating him. Linus can't bear not being part of the group, so he congregates with the doggies during any family gathering at my house. I have a collection of kitty/doggie photos where Linus & Kel are sleeping together, playing, grooming, etc. I love that my pets get along so well - makes me love them even more!

18. Hell, no.
Our cat is downright sadistic with our dog. We keep the dog in a cage at night and if the door to the room is left open, the cat will just sit in the doorway and watch the dog as the dog goes nuts. We have a gate to keep the dog out of certain rooms (she's still very much a pup even though she's a year old) and likewise the cat will sit on the other side of the gate as the dog goes nuts.

The dog wants to play, and is very friendly toward the cat. But if the cat still had her front claws, the dog would have no face.

19. Yes. Dennis, our orange tabby boy has always claimed our dogs as his..
We've had five Great Pyrenees and he has made each his own. Meows and purrs and rubbing up against, and some pilot-fishing (running very close to them as they move through the house).
Of course, then he rubs up against the sofa or a table leg, too...but as someone has already wisely said in this thread...Cats think EVERYTHING is theirs.

20. I knew a cat who thought he owned his bull dog.
One day, the bull dog passed and his human owner put him in a box with a lid outside momentarily. Next thing you know, the cat was sitting on top of the box, literally crying for a period of time.
