1. No offense, but most of that looks like someone barfed on a plate. |

DISCLAIMER: I gave up all forms of meat over 20 years ago.

2. "I think I'll get some fish, and lay it in the sun until it's dry and beginning to rot, and then |
|
soak it in lye. That sounds fabulous."
My alma mater serves this every year in the caf at Christmas. I also married into a family with Norwegian and Swedish roots and have had to deal with this abomination for years. Mr. Brickbat's extended family has had issues with each other about whether lutefisk is served with butter or cream, and whether lefse is served with butter alone or also brown sugar. It's a freaking civil war every December.

And a very fine use for leftover mashed potatoes. I've got some Scandinavian in my background but have never eaten Lutefisk. Nor do I intend to.

11. I think lefse would find more acceptance than lutefisk, for sure. |
|
Spread butter on lefse, roll it into a tube shape, and eat. Delicious.
Good dipped in the salty lutefisk butter and in the meatball gravy, too.

8. Thanks to my Scandinavian ancestors I can eat or drink anything. |
|
And I do. That looks good.
But coffee and milk? Please!
Wouldn't a frothy cup of something alive and fermenting be more appropriate?
