if they don't ever wanna pick up when you call, well, now you know...but "i wasn't home" isn't an excuse for not answering the phone in the 21st century
however my mother is not dead nor do i ever have any urge to talk on the phone (i'm a bit phone phobic) so maybe i'm missing something here
if someone phones me i usu. email or text them back rather than picking up the phone but at least i do not fall back on a bogus "i wasn't home" excuse when they know perfectly well the phone was in my purse wherever i went
