Me? Eight miles deep in the Allegheney National Forest near Kane, PA where my wife and I spent a week, quite alone, on our honeymoon in 1987.

1. Same kind of response from me
I just got back from my honeymoon on Tybee Island, Georgia and that's exactly where I'd want to spend my last day along with my wife. We had a very good time there and it's something that we will always remember.

2. We did really well alone out there except for one evening...
We decided to hike out about a mile on the ridge to watch the sunset. It was REALLY fucking beautiful. Um, woods are dark way out in the middle of nowhere. Like REALLY dark. We followed the edge of the ferns (the only grew at the peak of the ridge, at least in quantity), and scanned for the tent with the flashlight. The tent was green and tan - good choice, eh?

Fortunately, I had anticipated the possibility of getting misplaced while taking a dump or something and had aluminum pie tins hanging from each of the four corners of our camp site. I finally spotted one with the flashlight. Oh, did I mention that we were stoned all to Jesus at the time?

12. That's EXCELLENT to hear. You LOOKED like you were having one...
.
.
.
.
... and if ever any two people deserved that...
.
.
.
.
.
NOW... try to maintain the level of joy you had for and with each other
through that honeymoon. "Real" life won't be as loving or sweet as that
"break" from it was -- but the two of you are still the exact same two
people who were there.

13. Best wishes to you both!
I liked Tybee
Have only been there once, back just before Christmas in 1997
Stayed at a beach house owned by the mother of a friend in Florida
Toured around Savannah and visited with my cousin who is an attorney and knew a lot of the people in The Book
He and I are both originally from Oklahoma
Went to The Breakfast Club on Tybee and another place there for dinner, think it was called Harbor House or something like that
One of the best dinners ever
Got a parking ticket while we were down on the beach taking pictures
I wish we had gone back before we moved to Texas

10. South America...
Edited on Sun Nov-13-11 03:44 PM by GoCubsGo
I know it's a pretty broad, but there are too many places I want to visit there, and it would be too difficult for me to decide just one. My top two are Machu Pichu and the Galapagos Islands. I would love to visit the Patagonia, the cloud forests of Ecuador, and the Amazon, too. And, while I was in Chile, I'd swim a lap in this pool:

21. I went to Machu Picchu in 1970. We explored the ruins by
candle light and slept in one of the restored thatched stone houses. It's an experience that I'll never forget. No doubt, it would not be possible today to do what we did. We were there at just the right time.

as we were driving up, i remember the tour telling us that some people are disappointed that it isn't bigger :wtf:

i was there a few days after the summer solstice and we passed a gypsy train headed out. that was pretty neat, too.

16. A small nook, in the middle of nowhere.
Between Dr Coss, NL, Mexico, and. Mier. A small waterfall I know, two hours drive from Reynosa, then two hours more by dirt road, and a final hour by motor boat, up river.

A place surrounded by ahuehuetes, the majestic trees called the old men of the river. There is a small waterfall. Pristine clear waters, among the rocks, and a small cave underneath the waterfall where the water is translucent, and small fish can be scooped up with your bare hands.

I was there, once, with the woman who I have loved for the past forty years. I was happy then.

I want to remember that place one more time, before I die.
