I have a very stupid question.. |
|
Is the DU "search function" different than what in the upper right hand corner of the screen? The "google search DU". If there is a difference, where are DU's search thingies?
Thanks in advance.

1. I always set it to 'DU' to find old posts and not 'Web' to escape google stupidity. |

3. Nah, you're NOT stupid. But if you need to do a search and avoid the ads, go to their offshoot: |

It's a lot less trouble and not so ad intensive. Add -com at the end to get less blogs when you type in your search item. I find it's faster: http://www.scroogle.org/cgi-bin/scraper.htm

6. Try this- put 'one_voice' in the search box in the upper right |
|
set on DU, then Web. Then click on the magnifying glass and click on the blue link for simple search (on that search form where it says "search which field" enter "author"), or advanced search and try those. You'll see the differences if you try each one. I think it's fun once in a while to search DU for a random interesting topic/word and see what we were discussing over the past ten years.
