Looking for info on e-cigs
I know very little about them. I'm looking for the best deal on the best tasting ones. I prefer menthol, but I don't know if they make them for e-cigs.

1. The only one
I've used is this one (No.7)
http://www.ecigaretteschoice.com/

I've had the disposable ones. Never invested in the kit. Actually I would like to sell the four I have left over (never opened).
Not sure about availability of menthol.

The 'smoke' is adequate. If you are somewhere and need to take a little puff, there's no harm in doing so.

On edit: They say they have menthol.

3. My son used the eCig
but I don't know which brand...it was a full dealio though - he had the thing and bought refill cartridges or something. I quit smoking 9 years ago but I tried his a couple times and was pleasantly surprised how satisfying it was - I should say satisfying to someone who hadn't smoked in 9 years other than a 3 or 5 cigars (total). It may not be nearly as satisfying to someone who is still used to having real smoke.

It didn't really work for my son but I don't think he really wanted it to work - he just used it for times when he couldn't sneak off for a real one. So I guess it did work for what he wanted but he didn't want to quit.

I quit by using the patch but only was able to do that because my employer subsidized the patches so that they were the same price as cigs. (At the time they would have been about twice the cost of cigs without help)...

4. one comment and i hope you will take it in the spirit given
"vapor" is still smoke, it's just wet smoke -- no e-cig should be smoked in "non smoking" areas

don't try to use your e-cig in non-smoking places like airplanes, non-smoking restaurants, etc. because i for one can still smell it and i for one will complain, i would rather tell you now and save you a big expense than get into yet another hassle w. an e-cig smoker in public

i've had several situations now where i had to get security to threaten to escort them out, if they didn't put up their e-cig, apparently the e-cig advertising is very addictive and persuasive, and some smokers have bought into the bullshit that "vapor" is not a form of smoke that other people can smell

accept that, as a smoker, your sense of smell is not what a non-smoker's sense of smell is...we will detect the e-cig and some of us will report it if it's being smoked indoors

you are subject to the same rules and laws as with any other cigarette, at least in the places i've been so maybe forget about the e-cig if the plan is to think you can now once again smoke indoors

5. That's not why I'm getting the e-cig
I just want to quit smoking the real ones with all of the harmful stuff in them and I'm having a very hard time doing it. The e-cig seems like a good alternative to me as the gum and patch haven't worked.

7. I'm not trying to talk you into anything
but when you tried the patch did you keep smoking while on it?

I did. I was just able to easily cut way down on how many cigs I had a day. I had been up to 3 packs a day and just couldn't afford it any more. Within a week of starting the patch I was down to a couple a day and within 2 weeks down to 1 a day and then for a couple months I was on just the patch. Then one day it fell off during the night and I forgot to put a new one on and realized later the next day I quit.

Oddly, that was on 4/20 2003.

But however you go, I wish you the best of luck. It ain't easy but it is worth it.

8. I tried it a long time ago
and I didn't smoke while on it. It seems that quitting smoking to me is about more than just the nicotine.

17. FWIW,
while you are absolutely correct that what comes out of an e-cig has an odor that is detectable by others, and therefore it's entirely possible that it could bother other people and should not be smoked in non-smoking areas; it is not in fact actual smoke of any kind.

Sounds like you've had some crappy experiences with rude e-cigarette users. Sorry about that.

23. Suggest V2 e-cigs.
I have been 'vaping' them since 4/2011 and I really like them.

10. My husband got one and likes it, but he also still smokes real cigarettes
occasionally. He uses the Blu cig and they are reasonably priced. I think the starter kit was $70 and that included a pack of cartridges (which is equal to 5 packs of cigarettes)

12. I sell BluCigs
The kit is very nice. Gives you everything you need, including enough flavor cartridges to last as long a carton of regular smokes. They have a menthol flavor.

Here's my link:

If you use that link when you visit the site, and buy something, I get paid! WHEEE!

13. I purchased the Joye Ego Kit
I like to use the juice instead of cartridges which saves me money. You can get any flavor juice you want, including menthol. The juices have nicotine levels of your choice, from 38 down to 0.
I idea is to keep going down in the amount of nicotine until you are just toking your flavor.

I don't use them in restaurants, etc....I need to conserve my money and eat at home.

You can check out the e-cig forum and see if they are having a get together in your area. They will let you try different styles.

16. Hey man-
can't recommend trying them strongly enough. I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I found it to be a huge help.

I suppose it depends a lot on what part of the smoking ritual you're most tied to- for me, having something that I could still take out of my pocket, pull out of a case, hold between my fingers, and actually get "smoke" out of made it very easy to substitute for the real thing.

I won't try and tell you that it tastes like a real cigarette- you're going to know you're "smoking" a substitute- but for me, it satisfied all those other components.

I used White Cloud. One of the more expensive brands, I guess, but the thing worked great, never had an issue with the hardware, and the "smoke" it produced was flavorful and heavy enough to be satisfying.

One of the other nice things about doing it this way is that although you still get to "smoke" something, you immediately start to get the benefits of it not actually being smoke- you smell better, your mouth tastes better, your lung capacity can start to creep back upwards....

I'm not trying to say they're some miracle cure, but again if you're even considering it, I really recommend that you give it a shot. Well worth it in my book.

*I'm sure you already know, but what you get out of it is water vapor and nicotine (and flavoring), not real smoke in any sense of the word. Hence all the quotation marks around the word :)

18. Thank you
I've seen the disposables on a few sites and even though they are more expensive than a kit would be (about the same price as real cigarettes) I think I'm going to buy a few of those and give it a trial run. I appreciate your input.

20. they actually sell single disposables at many convenience stores now
some good for longer than others, but they will give you an idea of what they are like.

I bought a couple of different kits. I liked NJoy the best, it was the most like really smoking. I had a lot of trouble with the Blu kit, and just didn't care for it.

I still smoke cigarettes for the most part, but I use the e-cig on car trips or watching a movie or any occasion where lighting up isn't possible. Some people are able to stop real cigarettes altogether, but that hasn't happened with me yet.

My daughter is the worlds biggest cigarette smoke hater, and even she cant smell the e-cig.
