Four games between ranked teams today:

#5 Oklahoma at #22 Baylor
#13 Kansas State at #23 Texas
#16 Nebraska at #18 Michigan
USC (#18 in the AP poll but ineligible for the BCS ranking) at #4 Oregon.

So who does your team play? What games are you looking forward to?

1. Big game in Bozeman today
Edited on Sat Nov-19-11 11:43 AM by Ptah
#7 Montana Grizzlies (8-2, 6-1 Big Sky) visit #1 Montana State Bobcats (9-1, 7-0 Big Sky)

Chance of Snow and 18 °F

vs.

Having the "Brawl of the Wild" between the Montana Grizzlies and
Montana State Bobcats decide a Big Sky Conference champion isn't
exactly new: It's happened in 2002-03, 2005-06 and last season.

But you add in the Bobcats' No. 1 ranking and their chase of an outright
league crown, and this 111th football game of this series has that much more hype.

Not that it needed it.

"Growing up in Montana, this is why you play football - for this opportunity,"
said Griz defensive tackle Bryan Waldhauser. "This is a different type of
feel, for this game; the stakes make it feel a lot bigger. You ratchet it up;
it's a big deal for everyone involved."

28. Griz steamroll top-ranked Bobcats, 36-10
BOZEMAN --The Montana football team whipped top-ranked Montana State Saturday at
chilly Bobcat Stadium, 36-10. A record-breaking crowd of 20,247 was on hand.

The Grizzlies earned a share of the Big Sky Conference championship and an automatic
bid into the FCS playoffs. The Cats are co-champions and will also compete in the playoffs.

Peter Nguyen pushed the lead to 26 points on a 23-yard touchdown scamper with 9:28 left.
Dan Moore's 37-yard rumble up the middle for a touchdown at 5:37 in the third quarter
made it 29-7, but the Cats answered with a field goal early in the final frame.

The Griz lead was 22-7 after Brody McKnight's 33-yard field goal at 10:05 left in the quarter.

Hi,
Congrats, whoever picked my Huskers to win the conference were delusional. If they can beat Iowa next game and win the bowl game that would be 10 wins. We got spoiled with our run in the 90s and people on stupid message boards are calling for Bo to be fired, crazy to me at this point. Good luck the rest of the way, you destroyed my poor Huskers today. If you plan to come to Lincoln next year for the game, at least I think we play you, send me a note.

Peace

47. I suspect the main rationalization is 'being a newspaper in the same city as USC'
:)

But the columnist I was referring to made the suggestion that, because Oregon and Stanford both represent the North and because USC is excluded from the championship even if it does win the South, then this Oregon-USC game was the 'real' Pac-12 Championship game...

Cal Bears aren't looking bad, by the way - only down 1 at the half - so further discussion of Stanford may prove to be moot. (;) I'll cling to that thought for another hour or so, anyway)

Quack.

Maybe someone could enlighten me on the strategy of the last two+ minutes of the game, after Oregon recovered a fumble and was down just three points. Those remaining moments seemed chaotic. I assume that Kelly wanted to make a field goal and drive the game to overtime. But I sure didn't understand all the plays in those last moments.

My condolences, not just on the loss but on the tragedy earlier this week. I remember the 2001 plane crash very well--was living in Norman at the time. Very sad thing.

As to football, regardless of what happened last night and what may happen tonight, Bedlam will still be for (of nothing else) the conference championship (provided OU wins either this game or the game next week). And regardless of last night and here on out, it's been a heckuva season for the Cowboys. :toast:
