Hello..is this place still working? If so, on a happy note... |
|
my husband was out in the yard earlier and he cut a sampling of what's blooming in our yard now...a lovely bouquet...
white iris, peach iris, purple iris, yellow roses (English roses), a red rose, red roses that are wild roses, a pink/yellow combo (Abraham Darby English rose), and I can't help but smile when I see them in the house and outside. The Darby rose has a lovely fragrance and he didn't cut his favorites, the spiderworts, which in one area is a small sea of purplish/blue.
Happy spring! :hi:

2. I had some lilacs a few years ago, and they were supposed to be |

hybrids that could take heat, we haven't had those in years. They were beautiful and so fragrant while they lasted. I have annuals that made it through the winter and they're blooming and seem proud of themselves. The Baptisia and the Stella D'Oro daylillies are beginning to bloom.
In addition to all that, ducklings are out in our neighborhood, I saw a juvenile bald eagle taking advantage of some road kill earlier today, and the osprey's are very busy. In addition to the year 'round songbirds at the bird feeders, more songbirds are being spotted. Oh, and the wild turkeys have been out for a few weeks, the males displaying tail feathers....uh, I stay away from those birds, lol!
Happy spring!!

I have just found this place again after many years. It's spring! Our fancy daylilies in the northeast won't be out for a little bit yet but it is warming up rapidly for them.
My brother has wild turkeys in the country where they were reintroduced and flourish. He thinks they know that his acres are where they are safe from the hunters, and he has decided his fledgling orchard was really just planted for wild turkey nutrition anyway. :)
