Poll question: What should I do? (re: A personals ad) |
|
Edited on Wed Apr-07-04 07:41 PM by HypnoToad
I came a cross a personals ad of a bi guy who, under politics, answered "way right". (I answered "way left", naturally.)
What should I do (insert Bender giggling here...)?

3. No way is he being sarcastic... probably. |
|
His ad is devoid of any "in my words" chatter; he just answered questions and had a dull, typical repuke look on his face. Personally, he scares me. He doesn't write about himself and says "way right". Heck, he doesn't even write about himself! And yet, in the column "I'm looking for" he has the nerve to write "conversation" and "friendship" along with 'sex'. Uh, if he's not writing about himself, two of the three things he wants would be rather hard to get... :eyes:

Anybody who describes his politics as "way right" is probably a bore.

Maybe he'll want you to mercilessly flog him with a riding crop while wearing an SS officer's uniform. Or vice versa. But unless all you're looking for is a brief mostly physical interlude, I'd not respond to him. The political counterpolarity would NOT work out, sooner or later.

5. In political fetish sex... |
|
In political fetish sex, it is always customary for the more right-wing partner to wear the Nazi uniform, no matter who flogs whom.
At least that's what Miss Manners says... :shrug:

6. But the more overtly right-wing, outwardly "dominant" partner... |
|
obviously has some deeply repressed things going on behind the outward facade, too. Most of the quasi-fascist types I've ever known (not that I've known all that many, but you meet strange people in fetish clubs) have been sexual submissives and masochists.

7. Not to generalize too much-- |
|
The more right-wing member isn't necssarily the dom in the overall relationship. Think of the quiet, nice-guy type who does sweet romantic things for his girlfriend. Or the unassuming Prufrock-type. Suddenly in the bedroom, all hell breaks loose and that repressed aggression has to come out *somewhere*

What I thought you said was that the right-winger would more likely be the sub. I'm just pointing out that the dom might still be more right-wing, and therefore wear the uniform.

"You could wear the uniform and I could play along"...
God, I need to try to get some sleep. lol...

my sleep cycle's ALWAYS been buggered. I don't think I Have ever in my life had a "normal" circadian rhythm. (Probably somehow related to the Asperger's, I should imagine.) My brain doesn't seem to shut itself off...and I'm generally not able to fall asleep unless I'm totally exhausted. Unfortunately, I missed my window for falling asleep a while ago, due to needing to get stuff done, and now my brain is back in full-speed mode. If I DON'T fall asleep when I ought to, I seem to revert to "on" after about two hours. Like getting a second wind, I guess.

When I was a kid I called it "overdrive."
Usually my insomnia's more anxiety related, instead of just squirrel-brain...

I used to spend HOURS, literally, as a kid, lying under the covers with the lights off, running all sorts of mind-movies...(one of the most popular was fantasising that everyone else on the planet had vanished...fun, eh?)

17. My favorites involved, in order... |
|
1. Finding a small population of Eohippi that were living in the woods and keeping one as a pet;
2. Scuba diving;
3. Spending all day in this one pretty little field, instead of going to school.

when I went to school, I'd spend all day lost in another world (or several), like as not, anyway...I'd read constantly...I was always getting permission to go to the library...I'd take a book with me at recess and ignore the teacher's admonitions that I should play with the other kids...
Funny story about my reading...I learned to read on my own, with no instruction, at age 2, and I was reading on a junior high-school level by age six. The principal of the school I attended in 1st grade called in my mom for a parent-teacher conference. He asked her "what method did you use to teach your son to read?" Wanted to find out so he could use it and become recognised as a brilliant educator, or something, I'd guess.
She told him "I didn't teach him."
The principal's response was to call her a liar...I thought that was funny when I heard about it, some years later. (And...wow. Can you say "threadjack"? 1st time I've done that. I should be proud of myself, or something.)

13. Why not get into a political discussion with him? |
|
Maybe you'll find out he's not as rightist as he thinks.
