2. A literal interpretation I've never thought about

I've always taken it to be similar to "Go screw yourself" or "fuck off" or "go take a long walk off a sort pier".

Whether there's something actual sexual about it, I've never considered the possibility. But maybe it is. Who knows? I don't.
