Poll question: Best Bond Girl
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 08:51 AM by Screaming Lord Byron
Could only go as far as 1983 with this one, we could do a second poll for later Bonds.

On edit - for me, Rigg first, Blackman second (just)

2. One more vote for Honor Blackman.
In a close race with Diana Rigg.

Yeow!

4. Jill St. John
By 60's/early 70's standards, she was totally hot.

The perm didn't really do it for her.

Picky? Me?

29. Doesn't do anything for me now
but look at high school class pictures from 1966-1970. That bee-hive hairdoo was the in thing. Remember products like Dippity Do? My sisters were all over that stuff.

6. Honor Blackman.
But only becasue Rigg was far and away the best female Avenger, and I though Ms. Blackman deserved some love.

Of course, that brings me around to why I'm not a big J.B. fan -- Steed was always WAY cooler than Bond.

8. Steed was massively cooler because...
-he dressed well
-he let the women do all the fighting while he just goofed around with his umbrella stick
-he took nothing remotely serious, in fact the more serious the situation, the more ridiculous Steed got.

I picked her because I adore Famke Jenssen and plus I would love to have thighs powerful enough that I could kill someone!

14. I think I'll have to toss.....although I'll probably come down...
on the side of Ursula Andress....

Are you talking about "most attractive", or "best performance/role"? Ursula Andress was the most attractive, but rather hampered by the fact that she couldn't really speak English. Unbelievably, they overdubbed her attempt to speak or sing her lines, using a British actress with a wonderfully saucy voice, but who was VERY lacking in the physical attraction stakes.....

The bird from FromRWL is also GORGEOUS, but Maud Adams was too old and wrinkly to be a Bond girl IMHO.

Now, can someone remind which Bond girl was a transexual? I'm sure that there was one.....

15. Best performance or best looking, the choice is yours.
My answer to both is, of course, Diana Rigg. I put Maud Adams in because, bizarrely, some people have a thing for her. Not my bag, but whatever...
I believe the transsexual is the other dark haired woman (not Maud Adams, clearly) in The Man With The Golden Gun.

16. What? No Jane Seymour?
Domino the fortune teller was pretty hot/cool. And Rosie, with her big 'fro.

I object! Live and Let Die was COMPLETELY overlooked in this poll. The big pimpmobiles and silly 70s lapels are enough to make me watch this one repeatedly.

18. Jane Seymour, I feel, lacks the essential sexiness and vigour for the role
She looks great, but she just seems bored and distant, uninvolved in the plot. Still, Live and Let Die is a great movie, and I put Baron Samedi in the bad guy poll.

34. GOOD CALL! I'd like to See More of Jane...Geddit???
Oh god I'm a hopeless shit....

Jane Seymour was indeed supremely saucy, BUT I should point out that her name was Solitaire....Domino was, I believe, Kim Basinger's character in Never Say Never Again.

Bloody Americans....

17. Best way to have done this poll was by Bond
Edited on Thu Apr-08-04 10:17 AM by LynneSin
You could have had 4polls - one for each person who played Bond (I know, there was that 5thperson who played Bond - you could lump her in with Timothy Dalton since only did 2.

Then when you get the best of those 4 polls - you have a poll to determine #1

:bounce:

21. There have been FIVE Bonds.
Connery and Moore, of course; and Brosnan, as you mentioned.

There was also Timothy Dalton (after Moore) AND George Lazenby (AKA The Best Bond Ever, if for no other reason than the fact that he was in the "Emmanuel" movies).

32. I was a Bond freak in my youth
I thought that movie was superior to any of Connery's, and definitely superior to any of Moore's. How could you not love Telly Savalas sans earlobes? And don't get me started on the downhill ski battle!

The Dalton and Brosnan films don't come anywhere close.
