Tell us about your furry family members strange habits...
We were discussing it in a different post and I was wondering if anyone else had some strange puppy/kitty habit stories?

Cider likes to get on the side of the tub, walk down my leg and drink the bath water while I'm soaking.

1. One of my dogs goes bonkers when it's bed time. >
Grace starts getting impatient at about 6:30, just waiting for her cue. Then when I say, "all dogs" (we have four) she circles and barks, circles and barks, all the way down the stairs to the basement.

3. Chora and her box
Chora insists on using her box within minutes after I clean it. Every single time.

Do other cats do this? I wonder if she has some need to reclaim her territory, or if she just thinks it's funny to spoil all my efforts right away.

12. my Maine Coon Cat
is usually left outisde too do his thing. however, after I got a new and improved litter box he decided he likes too use it instead. Lately after he is let in he goes right for the box starts to paw. I throw hime out for an hour snce that is just for an emergency. So he comes back and again starts too paw. Last night he spend the night outside. I love these posts about our pets. I know thisis not the same thing your cat does but, it's behavior is close.

5. My dog
bites her toenails - I don't ever have to cut them. I've tried giving her chew toys to "break the habit" but she prefers her toenails. :bounce:

6. Abbott wants to sniff me up close while I'm on the potty
I mean seriously - when he goes to the litter box, it's not like I'm going to run in there and sniff his ass while he's going to the bathroom.

Evita has no bizarre habits since she still hides all the time

7. Anyone have a livestock guard dog afraid of sheepskin?
reprehensor washed our car Sunday with a 100% sheep/lambswool mitt. He laid it over the bushes in front of the house to dry, and when he went to walk the dog a couple hours later, Fargo FREAKED OUT.

He went completely mental, started pulling on his leash, and tried to break off it.

Monday morning, he DID break free and we both had to drive around the neighborhood in the car calling him. Fortunately some neighbors who knew us and him caugth him and leashed him for us until we saw them.

The mitt is now safe with a coworker. Now that the smell is gone, he's fine. He was bred to protect sheep, and he's freaked out by the smell of sheep.

But isn't he cute?

8. Cosmo and the kibble
Cosmo goes over to the kibble dish and knocks out a piece of kibble and then bats it around the living room for about 10 minutes before eating it. He never just eats. He always has to play with his food first.

9. Winky INSISTS on eating her breakfast in the bathroom while I'm getting
ready in the morning.

AND she HAS to eat her kibble on a rug. She'll run in, fetch a piece and run off to the dining room.

Blue insists on patrolling ALL AVAILABLE FOOD DISHES and trying to make sure she's the only one who gets to eat. We foil this by putting out at least 3 dishes.

Joey loves dressing up. He gets GIDDY when I make him a new sweater.

Boomer the tortuga grande insists on attempting to eat my toes while I'm sunning... but he comes when he's called which is rather fascinating. Ever have a giant tortoise come running up to you?

10. puffy tail but not angry...
My crazy Snowbell, unlike most other cats, puffs his tail when he is HAPPY, not angry... It's the craziest thing. Also, has to jump throught the railing to step #5 or #6, instead of just using the stairs from the bottom like the other cat does.

Also goes bonkers over toast...

11. How about this?
Mine are pretty normal in most respects. This particular behavior is not "strange," but is aggravating:

MY CATS LIKE TO BRING LIVE PREY IN THE HOUSE AND TURN IT LOOSE TO PLAY WITH LATER! :grr:

The "strange" behavior is from my tomcat. He runs up to the front window, looks out, and growls fiercely if someone is approaching the house, or just walking by.

13. I have two sugar gliders....
They look like squirrels, sort of, but they're marsupials. They're strange creatures who, in the wild, live in small groups of seven or eight. I guess their brains are hard-wired to be communal with their owners, because when we let them out at night (they're noctural), they crawl all over us, and rub their heads all over us, like they're snuggling. I also have to hide my paper mache art pieces in another room, because they will tear them to shreds if I leave them out.

14. Doo Doo Dance
My male dog, Cody, twirls in a circle while he poops. I call it the Doo Doo Dance. It's the funniest damn thing and he always does it. He also takes his food in his mouth and thenn spits it on the rug before he eats it one piece at a time.

He is half Doberman and half Australian Cattle Dog. He would rip your throat out if you came into my house but he is scared to death of house flies. If he sees or hears a fly he hides under the bed!

15. Romulus the Tuxedo Cat harumphs and sighs and groans.
His reactions are quite human. If he finds something out of place or not to his liking, he groans.

If someone picks hims up but he doesn't want to be, he sighs.

He's pretty funny.

16. My cat pees in the bathtub sometimes.
At least it's easy to clean up there.

My dog doesn't really have any weird habits. My previous dog used to bark whenever someone said "Uh-oh".

17. Petey
likes to put stuff in the cat fountain. Most often it's a string, but sometimes it's a toy or a bit of food. Last week he put in a toy mouse with pink fur. Petey also loves to give us a love nibble when we pet him, or he gives us a lick on the hand.

Cocoa thinks I am her mommie; she is ten months old and she still suckles my ear lobe. I am her binky! She is also the most willful cat I've ever seen. If you tell her no, or get down, she sasses at you! She chatters like most cats do when they see a bird or other prey. It's downright hilarious!

Daddy is our talking cat; he talks to Bertha when she gets home from work every day. He'll follow her around if she doesn't pause to talk to him and give him a little pet.

The funniest thing, though, is watching all six cats scatter when someone knocks on the door. Bertha and I frequently answer the knock while we are laughing our butts off because it's so funny.
