A question for British DUers
I watch a lot of soccer (football, as it's known everywhere else in the world) and I always take note of the companies and products I see advertised on the field or on jerseys. Some, of course, show up frequently, like Vodafone and the point of this post, Carlsberg. I understand that Carlsberg is a type of beer, but I find it strange that I had never heard of it before watching matches. There are plenty of British alcoholic imports, but this one seems overly popular (or perhaps just well advertised) in Britain, yet I have never encountered it in America. So, what is the deal with Carlsberg and why have I never seen it over here? And why does it seem so popular in Britain?

3. I used to live near a huge Carlsberg brewery near the Humber river
but I cannot explain why it isn't as popular over here

4. It's Danish. Drank it in Germany, not sure if it's available in the US
Even if it is it wouldn't necessarily be widely advertised. Bitburger is big in Germany, and I while I can find it pretty easily in the US it's not a big name.

5. It's popular because it's good!
Check out the UK website http://www.carlsberg.co.uk/

8. It's a lager
from Denmark. Personally, I don't think you're missing anything but that's probably because I dislike lagers in general.
