10. I've seen Steve Vai live. It was WILD!
G3, actually.

As the crowd filtered in we got Robert Fripp just sort of being Frippish.

Then Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band started the show. Then Vai, then Satriani.

19. I saw that G3 tour; it was great!
A guy I knew was playing drums for Vai at the time too. I also saw Steve Vai with Whitesnake, and enjoyed listening to his "impossible guitar parts" on Zappa's albums.

20. That was Ry Cooter and Steve Vai
in the movie "Crossroads". Shame Cooter had to die a few years ago, he could play the hell out of a guitar.

9. Actually, that would be a trio
Gary Rossington, Allen Collins, and Ed King (or Steve Gaines in their later live appearances)

(not to mention whoever is playing it in the fake Skynyrd tribute band today)

21. Correction: It was Wizzo (not Wizzel)
At least that was Lemmy's nickname for Phil Campbell at the time. I interviewed Campbell twice, and the second time I think he had a different nickname, but it escapes me right now.

And I was there! Just an incredible performance by all parties. I thought I saw Buddy's jaw drop to the floor when SRV REALLY got it going. Very bittersweet however, for obvious reasons. I actually sat and cried the next day when I heard the sad news. I called in sick to work and cried, but smiled remembering that performance. On edit- B.B. King wasn't there, that I recall. SRV's last jam was with Clapton, Cray, Mr. Buddy Guy, Jimmy Vaughan. I do not recall Mr. B.B. King at all. Of course I may have had a foreign substance or two in my system. lol.

27. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
Allman Brothers, Live at the Fillmore.

Dickey Betts leads off; it's his song. Mighty tasty.

Then Duane storms in. Smokin'.

Then they go insane together. Just incredible.
