April 9th is National POW Recognition Day
Let us remember those who gave of themselves to answer Duty's Call. This date was chosen because it was the anniversary of the fall of US and Flipino forces at the Battle of Bataan on April 9, 1942.

yelladawg. My Grand mother and my Mother know this day well, they are from New Mexico, and a great many of those in the military that suffered and died in the Philippines were from the New Mexico Guard. (A great many of them spoke Spanish so they were sent to the Philippines.)
God bless and many thanks to all those who see to our safety, past, present and future and those who pay the price for us. God be with their families as well.
May they come home soon, (I'd go for today) and may we find a way to end the need for such sacrifices.
