Do Protestants abstain from meat on Good Friday? |
|
I was raised Catholic, so we always did, but I went out for barbecue tonight (see? not a Catholic now) and the place was dead. There aren't THAT many Catholics here. So tell me, Protestants - did ya have fish for dinner tonight?

4. Nothing to do with giving up meat... |
|
between Passover and Good Friday, everything's dead.
btw, Some Protestants do the Friday fish thing, but it's optional for most, and few really care about it.
Me, I had chicken. Then later a fish sandwich for a snack, but only because it looked good.

No. In fact, my Lutheran parents, who were anti-Catholic (despite having Catholic friends) made a point of eating meat on Friday.

Fish on Friday is strictly a personal option in the Presby church.

And I was raised in one of the more Ecumenical branches (Methodist). As far as I know the Lutherans don't either, and I don't think the Anglican/Episcopals do either.

Because dammit, Jesus didn't die on Friday!!!! He died on Thursday. He rose on the 3rd day, which was a Sunday. That means He died on Thursday.
