Any HTML Wizards in the house tonight? 2 Questions.

1. How do I get rid of the box around the BBC News image? (below)

Yes, I do want to keep it as a link.

2. How do I centre a line of text (like a title) or an image?

Thanks

1. Hi ... suggestions

Note sure about the box. Browsers have some degree of freedom in how they scale images. Try adjusting the width and height properties of your image tag. An example ...

<img src=(url of image here) width = 20 height = 10/>

Consider it a trial and error process ... unless you have an image editor that will tell you the width and height.

The center tag does centering:

<center>This will be centered</center>

will center text
<center>

<img ...../>

</center>

centers an image.

Good luck.

<img src=(url of image here) border="0">

(That's a ZERO, not an O)

Unless you want to resize it, don't worry about entering the width and height, it will display at its original size.

For it to remain a link:

<a href="(URL image)" border="0">

6. the bbc news image...
The whitespace inside the box is part of the image. So you're out of luck, unless you edit the image and host it yourself.

You could try:

that might look better...

OR,

is that if it is a link, that the box has to be there?

I've seen image links on other sites that the box (outline) doesn't show up until you scroll over it,

Maybe that's not possible on this site?

I see a blue outline around your image, THAT's what I'd like to get rid of.

And yeah,

I may just crop the darn thing and put up with the outline/highlight.

9. the blue box is an artifact of DU
It's the way the DU style sheet shows image links. I imagine there's a way to fiddle it, but I suspect it's either already blocked or frowned upon...

Glad to help!
