Poll question: Is God blessing America? |
|
There are several ways that can be interpreted. If you do vote, please say why. Thanks

1. I like salamanders with guacamole. Sorry, always been bothered by |
|
that Americo-centric slogan, "God Bless America", because it seems to imply a monopoly by the USA on God's or Whoever's blessing, and
"the rest of the world take the hindmost with the Devil."
Tired of this naive, narrow-minded line. God, if he exists, would bless every human being on earth.
Even the Bushie neocons? Dunno. They don't seem human.

I've bought a big bumper sticker that says "God bless the entire world, no exceptions!" The Ameri-centric idea that God is for us only is a crock of constipated cattle cack.

8. Always thought it supremely arrogant that God would bless the US |
|
Other countries don't count? Isn't God supposed to be all-loving and all-encompassing?
Then again, last I heard America was made up of immigrants who worship many different Gods, leading me to wonder which God is it that is blessing America?

The idea that God blesses a country is absurd. Of course, I start from a totally different premise from that of religious people, but even when I was raised a Christian and indoctrinated with the idea that God blesses America above other nations, I still couldn't reconcile that with my own beliefs.

11. It's blatantly false... |

I think somebody scribbled that into the Bible to make the meek believe they've got something to live for...

14. God blesses people not countries |
|
People are in control of countries. God blesses people. He never stated in the Bible that the Jews were his chosen country, but his chosen people. People get delusional when it comes to asking for blessings. They need to remember the purpose of prayer and what a blessing is.
