But the Ticketmaster part is somewhat consentual -- nobody is forcing me to attend this concert.
But, yes, I share your disdain.

I just ordered tickets for two concerts with them and the convenience fees were horrible.

4. It's a great, Bush-like euphemism |
|
"Clear skies" = more pollution "Convenience charge" = if you want these tickets, you don't have a choice (AND -- I will technically be scalping four of these tickets, when my friends pay me back, because I'm selling them for "more than face value" in order to recoup the fee)

A few clips, a form, boom, we're done.
But I'd still have to pay this convenience fee if I'd camped out on a Chicago sidewalk all night.

I did get a free trial offer for Rolling Stone, and the helpful hint that I should have forked over another $2.50 for "ticketFast."
The concert is in November. I don't need fast. I need eventual.

And, in my humble opinion, a monopoly that shouldn't be legal.
Their service charges are ridiculous. Oops, I mean convenience fees.

the four kids (mine and their cousins) to the monster truck rally last year. Tickets were advertised at $12 and adult and $8 a kid. He had me call for them. $117 later he had a horrid time with 4 whining tired children. And don't get me started on the cost of merchandise at monster truck rallies....

14. It does, indeed, suck. |

I do have to admit I appreciate Internet ordering. I remember in high school, my friends would either camp out on the street near an outlet, or dial over and over and over again and maybe get through. (I wasn't allowed to go to concerts in high school.)
This? No busy signals, no waiting, no sleeping on a sidewalk.

Whitacre D_WI's been a huge fan of them forever. I've actually seen Frank Black and Kim Deal with their respective follow-up projects, but never the Pixies proper.
On edit: Typo. Kim isn't Howard's sister.

no idea who they are but then I am old and really only keep up through my sons and their faves at the moment. They try to keep me somewhat current! Thanks and have a great time.
