On a Beatles note..
I wonder how many people out there learned Beatles tunes from dating a Beatles fanatic? I was a Beatles fan as a kid and I met someone who blew my Beatles knowledge away. She had that "Live at the Hollywood Bowl", which was an awesome album with all the pandemonium of a live Beatles's concert. Any input? P.S. First post for me, long time lurker! :hi:

1. 'Learned' as in 'Learned to play and/or sing'...................
or as in 'Learned of'?

Cause I learned how to play my first Beatle song from my accordian teacher when I was about 10 years old, in 1967. It was "Love Me Do" and yep, I learned it on the accordian.

5. I guess..
I meant learned more about them , because you were infatuated with the person. You know, she likes it so I'll like it.

2. lennon
When I was about 26 I was dating a girl who was 19.
The day John Lennon died, I ran to her and exclaimed,
"John Lennon died!"

She said, "Who's John Lennon?"

3. I was just a *little* too young to date when I discovered the Beatles
The younger of my two brothers is 16 years older than I am, and the other is 18. When I was still a preschooler, probably in 1972 or 1973, my mother discovered a case of 45 records in the basement that belonged to one of my brothers. Since he had moved out she went ahead and gave them to me to play on my Show 'n' Tell. There were about 6 or 7 Beatles singles, "Good Vibrations", "You Didn't Have to Be So Nice" by The Lovin' Spoonful, "96 Tears" by ? and the Mysterians... and maybe 20 more that I don't remember now. I played that stack of records TO DEATH until finally, the needle on the Show 'n' Tell broke off.

I have loved Beatles music for over 30 years now, and I just turned 35. :)

6. Welcome to DU!
Hi Hemprus! I learned the Beatles tunes when I first heard them in the latter part of 1963. Taught myself guitar using Beatle's tunes. Was a real Beatlemaniac until the breakup. Haven't played a Beatle's tunes since I said good-bye to John in 1980.
