Moran to me "Get a Grip
Edited on Sat Apr-10-04 04:54 PM by Florida_Geek
OK I am doing some shopping at Publix grocery store wearing my

Tee-shirt and on my way out an old bag made a horrible face at me and said "Get a grip soldiers die in all wars".. I just smiled at her. But she was only only one since I got the shirt that said anything.

2. Glad you've only met one moron
I would have asked her how many of those soldiers were her relatives. When she said none, I would've shook my head and said, "I sort of figured that",` and gone on.

3. The other day I was wearing my anti-W shirt
And this lady says "I'm voting against Bush...and I've been a Republican all my LIFE!"

Good to see even the Republicans are sick of monkey's shit.

4. "Bush lied, Tens of thousands died"
That'll keep the rhetoric of "soldiers die in wars" to a minimum and maybe wake them up as well. Tens of thousands includes the Afghani innocents, Iraqi innocents, US soldiers (innocent or otherwise), and the 9/11 victims.

5. My favorite shirt story...
I was wearing one of my Bushco shirts, this one, to be exact...

in the grocery store, and went to the checkout line. The cashier was a very heavy black woman, eyeglasses suspended on a chain around her neck, resting atop her ample bosom. She stopped ringing my order, put the glasses on and read the shirt aloud, slowly, halting..

"Makin' the world...

safe for...

wealthy..."

At that she practically shrieked...I swear, despite the stereotypical sound of this characterization, it is 100% true..."Ooh lawdy, you got that right! Bush is all about takin' all away and giving it to the white man! You got that right, sure enough!" (I'm white, if it matters, but it actually made it funnier!). I laughed out loud, too, and thanked her for noticing. It was a classic moment!

10. I've had this reaction too.
I love the reactions I get from my African American friends about being anti-Bush. They have no qualms about telling it exactly the way it is, and squealing in delight.

Several months ago, I was at Central Market talking to some folks behind the counter while I wearing my Dean shirt. They loved what I was telling them. The one lady wondered about voting in the primary since she had moved, so I set her up with a new voter registration card since I carry them with me wherever I go. Her reaction was the reason I am so into what I'm doing. Giggles and ya-hoos and "Amens."

6. Guess she missed the
Lied part. Sure soldiers die in war but the war is a lie. If someone came into the grocery store and decided to shoot people up would she say get a grip crime happens? Bush*'s lies are murderous.

9. I get people asking me where I get my buttons
I gave away a couple of "No Blood for Oil" buttons to total strangers at the grocery store and one guy who came up to me in the parking lot of Circuit City
