Found out one of my nephews is DEM!!! |
|
My sister in law came into town today with her two sons. We went out to eat (Cheesecake Factory) and then walked around the mall for a few minutes. As we were walking I was talking with my nephew. We got on the subject of politics. He told me that he was on the debate team and one time had to debate the * economic policy. Knowing what a hardcore pug his mom is I assumed that he was as well, considering that is the one party line he was raised with. I told him that we would probably have to agree to disagree.
He told me, I don't think so. That is when he told me that in the Illinois primary he supported Clark. Since he's only 17 he could not vote but he was still involved enough to have an opinion.
I cannot express the shock! He is the first of the next generation in my family to express he is not a puke!!! I asked him what caused this change and he told me that as part of the debate team he had to read up on things and he came to his own conclusions that * was bad for the country!!
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!!!He has Al Franken's book and loved it. He said he tried to read Hannity's book but could not get past the preface as it was making him physically ill.
YIPPPEEEEEEE!!! Maybe there is hope for my family after all!!!!!

Hehe, Bush's speeches themselves make me "physically ill."
I guess when people expose themself to truthful information, there's nothing else for Fox "News" to do to "save" them. Good for him!

5. He's pretty bright...in the gifted program at school. |
|
I am just so suprised that he has turned out so well. Yeah I gave him an extra strong hug when we parted this afternoon.
What makes me happiest is that he did not respond to slogans..He READ BOOKS and weighed the arguments logically. That is most important.
Again I am so proud.

Since he's from Illinois, I'll tell you an old story from a man who has been spinning in his grave in Springfield ever since * took over:
A politician visiting Clinton Illinois saw a boy with a litter of pups. "They good Republican pups?" he asked the lad.
"Yep," the boy answered.
A month later, the politician came by again. This time he was with his colleague, a fellow from Jacksonville named Stephen A. Douglas. The two men saw the boy again with his pups. "Are they good Democratic pups?" Douglas asked.
"Of course," the boy replied.
The first politician said, "But when I was here a month ago, you said they were Republican pups."
"Yeah," the boy said, "But that was before their eyes were opened."
