What were your initial reactions the first time you saw "Pulp Fiction"
I couldn't help but think "OH MY FUCKING GOD...I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY DID THAT!" A number of times. Especially when the guy in the back set got it by accident.

9. don't bother trying
All in all it was a well made film. But it was too violent by far.

4. that tarantino was a modern orson wells
he did what wells did, took a bunch of cinema\stage\editing techniques not used widely and strung them together to make something unique.

tarantino is a student of film, anone who watches movies can see he loves cimema. he has so many references to film history in the way he shoots, edits and uses sound.

5. Ha!
I loved it. I only saw it for the first time while I was living in England last year. My mom always kept it hidden from my siblings and I!

I so need to rent that tonight and settle down with some popcorn.

7. I thought it was stupid. My reaction was wonderment that people
thought it glorified drugs. It was extremely violent. I just don't get excited watching druggies drug out. The only person who had a nice life was Bruce Willis and he didn't do drugs. That was a good point but I never heard anyone say that.

So how did it glorify drugs and what sex and age does one have to be to enjoy it?

8. when Uma Thurman OD'd, I think my heart stopped
I can't describe how I felt. I was abjectly horrified and prayed that instant that I'd never see anything like it again and that no one on earth had ever or would ever experience that. I reached over and took my best friend's hand and I think he felt it too because he put his other hand over mine and squeezed tight.

I'm just sitting here shaking my head because I just can't describe how I felt. For a long time I sat there, dead in my seat in the theater. I was just dead. When I could move, I looked at my friend and he had tears on his face. It was horrible for both of us.

11. Possibly because its one of the more realistic scenes of an OD
I've seen OD's and short of the instant 'come to life' part, Drug OD's are not pretty like in most movies.

They are very unpleasant to watch.

Part of what hit me about this movie is that the characters maintain the same blase attitude towards death as they do in ordinary movies, yet the deaths aren't cartoonish at all - they are incredibly realistic - making you question our attitude towards violence in movies in general.

12. Thought it was the most exhilirating, funniest, kick ass
movie I ever saw. Literally, fell off my seat in the theater from laughing when they saved Uma when she was ODing. I've watched that movie at least 50 times, no lie, and I still get a kick out of it!

13. It's all about the colorful characters and dialog
which is some of the funniest ever written. Especially between Jules & Vincent concerning hot topics like the significance of foot massage, filthy animals and international burger nomenclature.
I've seen the movie about a dozen times, and even though I'm inured to the Marcellus rape scene, I still can't watch Uma's OD scene.
When I finally get around to buying the DVD, it'll be "The Bonnie Situation" that I'll watch repeatedly. Absolutely hilarious.
All in all, one of the half-dozen or so best movies of the last ten (eleven?!??) years!

14. I liked it, but wasn't blown away by it
I liked QT's non-linear narrative. That was pretty cool. I liked the Bruce Willis plot, especially when Christopher Walken delivers young Bruce his father's watch. Classic!

I recently watched Reservoir Dogs again after seeing it when it first came out. You know, I didn't care for it all that much. In fact, I can't think of a single QT movie that I've thoroughly enjoyed from beginning to end. He writes the occasional bits of witty dialog, and he can be unconventional, but frankly I think the man is a little too full of himself to ever make the transition from being a good writer/director to being a great writer/director. Just my two cents.
