Is that automated email thing such a good idea?
Won't those emails appear to be spam?

Lots of folks will likely keep the stock letter, and you have to choose from pre-written subject lines.
And who knows how the "from" info will appear.

I think spam doesn't serve us well...but who am I to judge I guess.

Hopefully people will keep going to places like
www.dkosopedia.com/index.php/Sinclair_Broadcast_Group#Pullout
and
http://www.boycottsbg.com/advertisers/TopTenAdvertisers.aspx
and sending thier own emails and phoning the advertisers themselves....

1. In cases such as this
It is the overwhelming (one hopes) numbers that make the point.

2. Our Sinclair station publicized how many emails were duplicates
This article in my paper today says that our Sinclair affiliate has received 2,000 letters so far, both pro and con. They don't break down how many pro and how many con. But at end of article they mention that half of the 10,000 emails against them not showing Ted Koppel's Nightline tribute to the troops earlier this year were all form letters generated by members of Media for Democracy. So it is definitely more helpful to send unique emails, rather than identical ones that they can discount as just 'form' letters Here is link:

4. That's interesting. I was dissappointed to see the stock email..
advertised at the top of DU.

I think the top 10 list..or the dailykos page would be a better thing.

Oh well.

I guess lazy activism is better than no activism!

3. i thought so too. so i wrote my own letter and subject line
just in case they've adjusted their spam filters. I suggest you all do the same. All it takes is a little rewording to slip through the lines.

5. You can't write your own subject line, can you?
Or are you saying you're not using the automatic emailer?
