Wisconsin - Need advice on pre-election activism |
|
I need some advice on how to maximize my impact on the election. I live in a rural conservative area (near Cumberland) but plan to go to a more populated area a few days before the election.
I am disabled with Central Pain Syndrome and a seizure disorder, but I can drive and sit and hold a sign. I can't talk for very long.
I think I can be most effective picking off Nader voters in Madison. I plan to use the issue of medical marijuana. I just moved to WI from WA where I was legally authorized to use medical mj so I've got a huge stake in the issue.
I would like set up some signs and hand out pamphlets on the UW campus, and hit any Nader rallies. My signs will say things like "A Vote for Nader is a Vote to Send me to Jail" and I'll have a simple pamphlet outlining Bush's war on med mj patients and Kerry's support.
Does this make sense? If so, would anyone care to assist me?
Any other ideas?

1. It sounds like something for which you're very passionate. |

So it sounds perfect. You go! I wish I could help, but I'm in Milwaukee.
Peace, my friend.

2. I wonder about contacting ACT |
|
since they're so active in Madison. (608) 287-1631 or email jkramer@act4victory.org (that's the info I have for signing up to work on Nov 2, so I assume the same person could steer you in the right direction).
If you don't get a 'partner in crime' directly responding to your post here, I would think that ACT would be happy to partner you up with someone.
