Do you know who is your precinct committee person?
If you don't... find out and get involved.

If there isn't a Precinct Committee person call your County Chair and get appointed.

If you can be the Vice Committee person get appointed.

Find out who are Precinct Committee persons in your county and meet up to discuss what to do.

Help fill the other precincts with Committee persons.

Have a list of precinct committe persons handy for reference. (I just uploaded a list of elected precinct committee persons into my pda -- both parties)

Get a list of registered voters in your precinct along with their voting record. Do polling and find out what makes them tick.

Use FundRace or fec.gov to find donors in your area.

1. Yeah Right.
I am a District Chair and a member of the State Committee as well as a PC. I worked my ass off. Fat lot of good it did.

6. You probably did it without all of the precincts filled and...
enough people willing to do something.

Some things I have learned:

Those in position of leadership (County Chairs, District Chairs, etc.) Try doing it mostly by themselves.

When you need something done ask someone. Too many times that is all it takes... ask someone. It is easier to get something accomplished with a group then an individual.

Keep asking

8. Ha! Ha! Ha! ha!
Have you ever asked for Dem canvassers or GOTV effort? We had 300 volunteers and none showed up on election day. We had lots of phone bankers. And there are very few PC's that do anything.Sad but true. I and all the other District Chairs have asked until we are blue in the face. And BTW the Kerry campaign wouldn't work with any PC who was willing so that may also account for some voter troubles. When we do have help, people won't use them.

10. Which state?
We had our phone banks... the one I was at we had all the phones manned. Another location that was not connected to the party was suppose to have but word was that they left early and there was only 1 person left in the afternoon.

We had rides going out of the county hdqtrs.

What structure do you have? Are you referring to district chairs at congressional level or in the county?

I wouldn't doubt that there would be trouble between the local people and campaign. If a campaign doesn't get the local people involved especially when they know the lay of the land then they have a better chance of failing.

12. Arizona. Legislative Districts.
We only have District Chairs, County Chairs and a State chair. Of course we have Precinct Commiteepeople who ostensibly take their marching orders from the District Chairs. The County Chair theoreticaly .is responsible to the County Executive Committe which is made up of the District Chairs. Most District Chairs are also members of the State Committee who operate under the supervision of the State Chair and the State Executive Committe.

2. Yeah. It was me. I was my GOTV person. But they thought I was an
"election monitor."

One of the pollworkers said they had a half dozen "election monitors today, and I've worked here for several years and I've never seen them before."

I told him I actually lived in the development and that I'm just encouraging participation. I checked off the list of those who had voted against my printout, and went back & called the rest who hadn't shown up.

I'm crushed today because I worked so hard for a lot of people this election, and a lot of them lost.

11. What part of Indiana?
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 11:14 PM by LiberalFighter
Most any part of Indiana would be difficult to work.

We had to deal with our own nut Souder and all of his radio ads were vile and despicable. YET these people vote for him.

Kernan's campaign I think should had done more about Daniels involvement in creating the national deficit and expose how Daniels really talks.

13. North Central. 2nd district. Donnelly lost, too.
Yeah, I didnt hear much about his deficit anywhere. That should've been brought up a lot more.

What I can't understand is how the Republicans can run smear ads all the time but when a DEM does something like this (and it even being the truth) we get slaughtered! It's like we always have to be the good guys and the Repub party is the big bully who is always allowed to make the punches without anything backfiring. I just don't get it.

15. They lie and lie and lie
Steve Carter lied about creating the "Do Not Call" list. He didn't create it... Dale Sturtz was the mover and author of the bill.

Mark Souder OUR scum of a congrassman had vile and despicable radio ads that made Democrats and Liberals as the scourge of the earth.

Davis slimed Liggett by accusing him of receiving benefits as a House Representative... the people are so stupid... So Davis won't be receiving the same benefits?

I just hope there is a candidate that will beat Daniels 4 years from now. In the meantime we need to compile material on this guy.

I wonder who ran Kernan's campaign and how competent they were compared to Bayh and O'Bannon? Robin Winston and Joe Andrew should had had a hand in the campaign.
